Methane Biogas Production in Malaysia: Challenge and Future Plan
نویسندگان
چکیده
Biomethane is a sustainable energy that produced from an organic and renewable resource. As the second-largest oil palm producer in world, mill effluent (POME) primary source of biomethane generation Malaysia. POME by-product extraction extensively employed as feedstock for production biomethane. Malaysia has equatorial environment with humid hot weather; this climate conducive to cultivation numerous agricultural crops. A considerable number wastes residues are by crops, however, only 27% them used fuel or create useable products. Several publications have been published on POME; nevertheless, additional research required use other bioresources technologies In addition, there lack comprehensive information future development Malaysia; thus, fill gap, review paper focuses challenges Malaysia, which puts emphasis also includes alternative options can be To best our knowledge, first provide overview biogas trend terms current development, well detailed leading companies currently active industry.

Biogas Production by Encapsulated Methane- Producing Bacteria
Encapsulation of methane-producing bacteria was carried out with the objective of enhancing the rate of biogas production. Encapsulation with a one-step liquid-droplet-forming technique was employed for the natural membrane, resulting in spherical capsules with an average diameter and a membrane thickness of 4.3 and 0.2 mm, respectively. The capsules were made from alginate, using chitosan or C...
متن کاملBiogas Control: Methane Production Monitoring Using Arduino
Extracting energy from biomass is an important alternative to produce different types of energy (heat, electricity, or both) assuring low pollution and better efficiency. It is a new yet reliable approach to reduce green gas emission by extracting methane from industry effluents and use it to power machinery. We focused in our project on using paper and mill effluents, treated in a UASB reactor...
متن کاملBiogas production from boreal herbaceous grasses--specific methane yield and methane yield per hectare.
The objective of this study was to determine the specific methane yields of four grass species (cocksfoot, tall fescue, reed canary grass and timothy) cultivated under boreal conditions as well as how harvesting time and year of cultivation affects the specific methane yields per ha. The specific methane yields of all grasses and all harvests varied from 253 to 394 Nl CH4/kg volatile solids (VS...

متن کاملBiochemical methane potential and anaerobic biodegradability of non-herbaceous and herbaceous phytomass in biogas production.
The suitability of municipal plant waste for anaerobic digestion was examined using 57 different herbaceous and non-herbaceous samples. Biochemical methane potential (BMP) and anaerobic biodegradability were related to the degree of lignification and crystallinity of cellulose. The BMP of herbaceous garden plants (332.7 CH(4)NL kg VS(-1)) was high, although lower than that of energy crops (400-...
